TM: Behind the Scenes

Sometimes, there’s a lot going on in the Barn but there’s not much to show for it. This is one of those times.

I’ve shared a bunch of behind the scenes info with Patrons, so they have an idea of things to come—some are BIG things and some are of a more personal nature (hifi-wise). Please consider becoming a Patron if you like what I do here at TM and you’d like more.

here’s a hint that’s not really a hint (Patrons know what this is and why I’m so excited about it)

Unfortunately a lot of the stuff that’s been eating up my time is too mundane to talk about. These include things like website maintenance, your basic business affairs, unpacking/packing/shipping, planning (yes, I plan!), research (I do that too), and talking to people. Actually, taking to people is anything but mundane but talking about talking to people usually is. One aspect of planning that’s worth noting is making sure the gear that’s here for review is used in logical system contexts, and when possible, similarly priced like-gear is here at the same time for comparisons. Example: it’s of next to no use to review a pair of $25k speakers with a $500 streaming integrated amplifier or a $25k integrated amplifier with $500 speakers. So I research and plan.

There are also some (very) subtle hints about what’s to come on the TM Instagram page along with near-daily posts and stories, the latter mainly consisting of Roon screenshots of music I’m enjoying. Considering following TM on Instagram if you’d like more TM.

One update I will share is the next Listening In The Barn video will be ready next week on the TM YouTube channel, Patrons get early access, excepting any unforeseen delays. This video will feature the very soon-to-be-reviewed Marten Parker Trio speakers in a great system context playing some great music. I’m particularly happy about the music, but I’ll save that reveal for the video.

And here’s a video peak behind the scenes in the Barn of late for illustrative purposes.
